The biggest week of the 2017 NCAA Football Schedule has arrived as we get set for an exciting Championship Weekend. The action gets started on Friday Night with a show time matchup out West for the Pac 12 Championship followed by a full day of college football on Saturday. All four of the major conferences are up for grabs while teams fight for their chance to land one of the four spots in the College Football Playoffs. For sports bettors, all eyes will be on all the action but the SEC Championship should deliver as the Georgia Bulldogs look to bounce back from a loss to the Auburn Tigers just a few weeks back.
For these two teams a win in this game secures not only gives them the SEC Championship but possible the number one spot in the NCAA Football Playoffs. Since that loss the Bulldogs have bounced back with impressive wins over Kentucky (42-13) and Georgia Tech (38-7) while the Tigers just continue to win including an impressive win over Alabama last weekend to earn a spot into the SEC Championship Game.
These two teams will now face off on Saturday as each team has a difficult task in slowing down the opposing team’s high powered offense. For the Tigers, they will look to slow down a solid Bulldogs rushing attack that is led by Nick Chubb (1,098 yards, 6.2 ypc), Sony Michel (903 yards, 7.3 ypc) and D’Andre Swift (509, 7.7 ypc). Meanwhile the Bulldogs will have to slow down one if not the best passers in all of College Football Jarrett Stidham. Stidham enters this game with 2,682 yards while completing 68.5 percent of his passes for 16 touchdowns.
Now let’s take a look at the Keys to the Game for both the Georgia Bulldogs VS Auburn Tiger in the SEC Championship Game.
Georgia Bulldogs – Ride The Momentum
Despite not playing at home tomorrow the Bulldogs will have the home field advantage as this contest will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta Georgia. This advantage will have many sports handicappers and bettors turning to the Bulldogs while also receiving up to 2.5 points based on the sportsbook they elect to use. If the Bulldogs can make it loud, it will force the Tigers to beat them without the support they have received in each of their big wins against the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide this season.
Auburn Tigers – Shut Down the Ground Game
It is simple game plan for the Tigers and that is shut down the Bulldogs powerful rushing attack and force quarterback Jake Fromm to beat you. While Fromm has been solid he has not been asked to do as much as Stidham has this season as the team has rushed for nearly 3,200 total yards to go along with 35 rushing touchdowns. If the Tigers can find a way to slow down Chubb and Michel this could be an ugly game for the Bulldogs. This would quiet the Bulldogs fans and turn this contest into a real Neutral Site contest.

The solid success for these two teams this season has trended over to the betting side as both teams have impressive records against the spread. The Bulldogs enter this game 8-4 against the spread including going 4-1 away from their home facility. Along with those numbers the Bulldogs have controlled the SEC going 7-3 against the spread while also going 4-1 in their last five games at a neutral site. Meanwhile the Tigers have gone 6-4 on the year but have struggled on the road going 3-2 against the spread. The success continues for the Tigers as they have covered the spread in each of their last five games in December. Meanwhile the head to head betting trends sway to the Bulldogs as many are considering this game a home game (home team is 9-2 against the spread). The Bulldogs have also covered the spread in five of their last seven overall meetings.
